Program Philosophy

Choreography, Performance, and pedagogy in contemporary dance form the core of the Graduate Studies in Dance Program with an emerging complement in Dance Wellness. The curriculum includes technique, four semesters of choreography, history, pedagogy, production, kinesiology, music, and Dalcroze Eurhythmics. Seminars in dance medicine/science as well as costume construction and light design are also offered. International workshop opportunities are a key aspect of the graduate program and undergraduate majors may elect to study abroad.
