Program Philosophy

The Kent State University dance program is dedicated to developing technically sound, intellectually diverse, and creatively expressive dance artists who can contribute significantly to the field. The BFA program emphasizes modern dance with majors in dance performance or dance education (multiage license).The division is strongly supported by courses in ballet, jazz, composition, and dance science, taught by an experienced and active faculty of artist/teachers. A minimum of four concerts are offered annually.
